book coach & ghostwriter

About

Purpose. Diligence. Experience.

History

Stanley Dankoski Editorial Services began in January 2018 when a fellow writer asked me if I knew any editors. I gave her a name to consider and decided to put myself up for consideration. She chose me because she knew my style, my way with approaching revision, and my knack for looking at the big picture when addressing story issues.

The summer before, I became certified as a Gateless Writing instructor. While most Gateless instructors tend to host writing retreats, I channeled that knowledge through my editing. I have attended four Gateless retreats, led by Suzanne Kingsbury, since the fall of 2014, when my writing changed forever. I wrote a short piece to one of her prompts and was at first so reluctant to share it with the group that self-doubt tainted the whole retreat weekend. I was finally convinced to share it before leaving, and I was floored by Suzanne’s feedback, how deeply she saw the power in my words and how, up to that point, I had no idea.

Since then, I’ve helped fiction authors writing YA, sci-fi, upmarket, and literary fiction. I’ve helped life coaches, business consultants, surgeons, and more with their memoir or nonfiction books. With each, I hone in on their vision and goals for the book, its endpoint, its purpose, and I help drive them there.

About

Stanley Dankoski

Stanley has helped authors of literary fiction and entrepreneurs, business and creative consultants, and health professionals authoring nonfiction along the path to publishing their books. He’s helped secure literary agents and craft book proposals, edit and proofread manuscripts, honed in on the query letter and just about everything editorial in between.

When he’s not working, you can find him writing his own fiction and personal essays, photographing portraits and literary events*, dancing Argentine tango with beautiful women*, building with his daughter elaborate dollhouses and accessories out of cardboard boxes and popsicle sticks for the characters I create in my bedtime stories, and yanking shoes away from the fangs of our new Havanese puppy.
